Islamic Law Diyat is a form of financial compensation in the Islamic legal system that is granted to the victim’s heirs as restitution for the loss of life or injury. Its implementation is not merely a form of punishment, but rather an instrument of justice that incorporates elements of responsibility, restoration, and social balance. According to Syariah principles, diyat functions as a complement to qisas while also providing space for the values of mercy, compassion, and repentance.
